When the goal is to get lean and lose weight, it's easy to become fixated on that goal. It's measurable and transparent. But weight loss is rarely linear; the scales probably won't show a loss every week, and it can be discouraging when that's your marker for success. It's essential to have a way to stay committed to weight loss when the scale isn't moving as quickly as you'd like.

Reducing sugar consumption is a great strategy when the overall goal is to reduce body fat and get leaner. However, it may not be as simple as it sounds to achieve. Finding a fat-burning workout that you like and will look forward to is the holy grail of training for fat loss. Showing off your toned muscle, and all the related health benefits of carrying less body fat are enough to draw you into a cardio regime. If you’ve been dieting for a while, you might have noticed that it is much harder to lose fat from some areas of your body compared with others. It just feels so hard to get rid of stubborn fat! Losing weight for health reasons is a great decision, and can massively improve your health. But for many people, it's also about improving how they feel about the way their body looks too. If you have a lot of excess weight, or if you lose it very quickly, you may experience some loose skin. It's common to feel a decrease in appetite while you're in the middle of your workout, but once that high-intensity session wraps up, you've likely got food on your mind. A weight-loss plateau is when you stop losing weight on a diet, even though you're still compliant with your calorie deficit. Plateaus can be a discouraging as a dieter because you're doing everything that you have been doing, and your progress stops. The benefits of improved health and fitness are apparent. Better health is something that we want for ourselves and the people around us. Being even a tiny bit fitter can have a massive impact on the rest of our lives. Improving our body composition can boost energy levels and improve our confidence. Motivation is fleeting, and there are a lot of things that can chase it off. Highly stressful circumstances make motivation disappear for some people; for others, it gives them laser focus. Perhaps trying some new diet, you've heard about and seeing some progress with the scale at the start. |
